Even though proper security has always been top priority for venues in Nashville, it has become a conversation starter and topic at many industry events in the last couple of years.
The terror attack outside an arena in Manchester, England that killed more than 20 people and injured nearly 60 others has shed spotlight on safety once again.
"To take that away and to destroy someone's happiness like that is unfortunate and disgusting and hope that never happens again," Outback Concerts Promoter Andrew Farwell told NewsChannel 5.
Farwell has worked with big-named performers with the independent company and said safety is always on top of the list.
"We want to make sure they have a good time, so security has a huge hand in that," Farwell added.
However, more professionals are discussing securing a safe environment at countless industry panels.
"Anything with such a hot button issue is going to be happening at industry conferences where people are going to be talking," Farwell said.
Municipal Auditorium Director Bob Skoney agreed that the industry pays close attention when an attack occurs at a place of entertainment.
"It makes you take in to account not only our facility but your surrounding areas because you want everyone to not only have a good time but leave in an orderly safe fashion," Skoney said.
Skoney said his biggest takeaway is realizing how uncontrolled outside of a venue can be. He described seeing the attack happen outside Manchester Arena as unusual.
"Recently we did a contract with Live Nation and start to bring in higher profile concerts back to the venue. I think this is something we'll see as far as more control outside the venue and more security," Skoney added.
A spokesperson with Bridgestone Arena told NewsChannel 5 that management is paying close attention to what happened in Manchester.
The spokesperson continued saying they do not discuss security measures and work closely with Metro Nashville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on a regular basis.
