NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — People all around Nashville are talking about gourmet potatoes, and they’re not from a restaurant.

They are baked by Chef Ralph, the CEO of Potato Mountain 615. All he needs is his own kitchen, his car and the road.

This chef delivers all around Nashville, and his popularity started on Instagram.

Before Chef Ralph was filling stomachs, his life was filled with obstacles.

"I thought I had the job, and I actually they had called me back and said I had a misdemeanor,” said Ralph.

After being turned down several times with kids to support, he turned to his passion.

"I love to cook man. I'm going to put a lot into it," he said.

Then this self-taught chef turned his love into Potato Mountain 615.

"I thought when I was going to build this potato, I was going to build it up like a mountain."

Spud after spud, with the help of social media, Chef Ralph is becoming a brand.

"On an average day, we'll probably hit 100 potatoes a day," he said.

While he's now a successful entrepreneur, there is a greater reward.

"It's really motivating to know that everyone loves them. They really love them. Nashville keeps me going."

Chef Ralph says he's getting a food truck soon and his long term goal is to open up a brick and mortar store.
