Semi Crash Snarls Traffic On I-24W Near SR 840

A crash involving two semi trucks caused a delay along Interstate 24 West in Rutherford County.

The incident was reported Wednesday morning in the westbound lanes near State Route 840.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the two commercial vehicles made contact with each other. 

Injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed one person was trapped and had to be taken by a LifeFlight helicopter to the hospital. 

Sky 5 flew over the scene and showed at least one tractor trailer off the roadway and resting on its side.

The wreck has caused a significant delay for commuters coming into Nashville from Murfreesboro Wednesday morning.
