There wasn't much left of a semi-truck involved in a two-vehicle crash on Briley Parkway, a few miles north of the Opry area.
Metro police said the crash happened in the northbound lanes at about 10:30p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said a semi-truck and a car were involved in the crash. Police said it's unclear why the crash happened, but the car crashed into the side of the tractor trailer.
The impact of the crash sent the truck through a wall, and somehow the cab of the truck came to rest perpendicular under the trailer. One of the truck's set of wheels came off and ended up in another lane.
Officers said the truck driver was able to climb out of the passenger side of his truck. Both drivers involved in the crash were taken to local hospitals with only minor injuries.
