NEW YORK (AP) -- Police said two people were killed and 11 others wounded in three overnight shootings in New York City.
In one of the incidents, police said nine people were wounded when gunfire broke out at a backyard party in Brooklyn. Six women and three men were shot but police say their wounds, mostly to the legs, are not life-threatening. Four other people suffered cuts and bruises from the disturbance.
Authorities said a man was killed in another shooting in Brooklyn. And police found three other shooting victims at a playground in the Bronx. A 20-year-old man had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations into all three shootings were ongoing. No arrests have been made.
