ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- Community religious leaders gathered to remember two television journalists who were shot and killed last week.

The interfaith service for 24-year-old reporter Alison Parker and 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward was held Sunday at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke.

The gathering featured music from the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and others.

In his remarks, WDBJ-TV General Manager Jeff Marks spoke about prioritizing mental health treatment.

Ward and Parker were killed by a former co-worker Wednesday. The two were on an early morning assignment at Smith Mountain Lake when Vester Lee Flanagan walked up and shot them. Flanagan later killed himself.

Ward's funeral will be September 1 at First Baptist Church in Roanoke. Parker's obituary said after a private memorial service, a celebration of her life will happen at a later date.
