Seven years after some of the worst flooding Nashville hit Nashville some people were still paying for the cost of rebuilding following the 2010 floods.

Chip Chambliss lost his entire home in Bellevue when Trace Creek sent 12 feet of water into the first and second floors. Chambliss, who did not have insurance, says it cost him more than $185,000 to rebuild his home. FEMA only gave him $29,000 to help with the costs of recovery.

"We still owe money, we had to cash in our entire 401K, that went down to nothing," Chip recalls adding that he still owes close to $10,000 toward the cost of rebuilding his home seven years ago.

Chips advice to those currently being impacted by flooding in the Houston area, don't be afraid to ask for help.

"Take what everyone can give you because you’ll need the help, can’t do it by yourself"

Chip and his family have setup a gofundme account to help with their recovery efforts.
