A sexual harassment lawsuit against a former school resource officer in Tennessee has been settled for $15,000.
According to The Daily News Journal, lawsuits accused John Heath in his former roles as a Blackman Middle school resource officer and a wrestling coach of harassing a boy because his mother would not respond to text messages requesting nude photos of her starting in October 2015.
To resolve state and federal lawsuits, Rutherford County risk management director Melissa Street said the county paid $14,000, while the former Blackman Middle School resource officer paid $1,000.
The mother and son initially sued Heath, the county, its board of education, and its sheriff's office in January 2017. Heath resigned in February 2016 after becoming a school resource officer in March 2009.
