In the midst of nationwide law enforcement controversy one large restaurant chain took the day to show their appreciation for those who protect us.

Shoney's offered a free breakfast, lunch or dinner for members of law enforcement agencies Wednesday only.

The company is no stranger to supporting officers. It gives regularly to the Nashville Police Fund which gives officers tuition for college classes or other educational pursuits.

Shoney's said they do these things as a way to show their appreciation in a tangible way.
To get the free meal, those in law enforcement had to wear their uniform or show proper identification.

The offer was made available until the restaurant closed Wednesday night at 10.
