Shots Fired At MTA Bus On Elizabeth Road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have confirmed someone shot at an MTA bus then drove away.

Authorities said the incident happened at the corner of Elizabeth Road and Hydes Ferry Road.

Officials said someone in a small four-door silver car, traveling the opposite direction of the bus, shot at the bus.

According to reports, the bus driver kept going to find a safe location before pulling over in the 1600 block of County Hospital road to wait for police.

Officers said there were four people in the silver car, but descriptions were not available. Police said they did know all four were black and the driver had dreadlocks.

According to those with MTA, they said they believe the gun may have been a BB or pellet gun.

No arrests had been made.

At least three people, including children, were on the bus at the time of the shooting, but officials confirmed no injuries were reported.

Three windows on the bus were damaged. Police said they were be reviewing the CCTV camera footage from the bus. 

MTA officials said another bus was sent to pick up the passengers and continue the route.
