A South Nashville family was the victim of a drive-by shooting after someone fired multiple shots at their home Saturday night just before the family sat down for dinner.
Tanya Coleman said she heard multiple gun shots that were so loud, she thought it was someone pounding on the home's door.
By the time the family looked outside, whoever fired the gun had already fled, but the next morning they were able to survey the damage.
The family found that at least four shots were fired - three hit their home, and one hit Coleman's car. They were .45 caliber bullets.
Following this event, and other events in the past such as vandalism, trespassing, and theft, Coleman hasn't felt safe in her home. "
I hear a noise, I hear a crack, I hear anything, I'm looking out the window. I don't relax in my own home," Coleman said. "This is my house, this is my home. We live here, we should feel safe, and if we're not feeling safe, then we'll do what we have to do to protect ourselves."
It was unclear who fired the shots at the Coleman residence, but the family has installed additional cameras outside of their home to deter crime.
The cameras are in addition to numerous no trespassing signs, large dogs in the yard, and signs posted letting people know they are gun owners.
Anyone with information has been asked to call police.
