Jeshiqua White's kitchen is piled high with ways to keep out the cold. A New York native, White just moved to Nashville.
"It's a big transition from New York but I like it," she said.
And while homelessness is nothing new to the social worker of nearly 15-years, seeing it in Nashville tugged on her heart.
"It bothered me a bit more because in the South it's harder to get to resources. Back home [you can] get on the train, you can get on a bus or you can walk a few blocks. But here you have to cross the highway," she said.
Now the new Nashvillian has a vision. She calls it "Project Love Strong."
"I just want to give out hoodies. Hoodies for the homeless," she said.
She created a Facebook page and asked for donations to buy hoodies and other winter essentials. The response was overwhelming.
The newcomer says Nashville gave her a warm welcome and she will continue to return the favor.
