The Nashville Sports Council has sparked a new effort to bring the SEC baseball tournament to Nashville.
Scott Ramsey, president of the council, said First Tennessee Park would be an unbelievable site for the tournament.
“Well I think there's three or four components. Certainly, Vanderbilt right now is a premier program in the country. Second I think, just in general, Nashville is a great destination town for SEC sports fans as evident in the basketball tournament and the many bowl games we've had over the past 18 years, and now we hope the SEC baseball tournament,” said Nashville Sports Council President Scott Ramsey.
“And we certainly think you couple those two together with a brand new park and a booming area of Germantown and the city’s support - we think we have all the necessary components to make it a great player experience and also a great fan experience,” he said.
The Council wanted everyone to rally around the cause as well, by using the hashtag #SECBaseballToMusicCity.
