NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 29-year-old Spring Hill resident has been selected to represent the U.S. in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games.

Taegan Martin was honored Monday night with a certificate of recognition by the Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Martin, who’s been swimming since she was three-years-old, will represent the U.S. this spring at the world games in Abu Dhabi.

She will compete in the 25, 50 and 100-meter freestyle events, as well as the 50-meter relay.

According to a release, she’s the only Tennessean participating in this year’s events.
