We all know medical care can come at a high cost. Many people across Middle Tennessee lined up for a chance to get a variety of health screenings for free.
St. Thomas Health hosted a free healthcare clinic at Municipal Auditorium on Saturday.
Participants received everything from x-rays to dental work, mammograms, and eye exams.
More than 600 volunteers from St. Thomas Health came together to make the event possible.
Organizers said the goal was to help people who don't have insurance, or can't afford healthcare, feel healthy.
“I think it's really about the persons we are serving,” said Karen Springer, President and CEO at St. Thomas Health. “They are grateful and happy they are having their needs met. What a great thing coming together.”
This was the 15th year for the event. Officials said the need has grown every year.
