More than 170 Desert Storm veterans from Tennessee gathered for a 25-year reunion.
The reunion was held Saturday in East Brainerd for the 196th Field Artillery Brigade. The Tennessee Army National Guard unit was based in Chattanooga until it disbanded in 2008.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported the event brought in service members from across the nation.
The event was hosted in part by the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation. The foundation was formed by Chattanooga Army Sergeant Andrew Smith after he lost both legs in 2012 after stepping on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.
Operation Desert Storm expelled Iraqi troops from Kuwait. The U.S.-led air and ground campaign followed Operation Desert Shield, which was President George H.W. Bush's initial response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
