BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - With school out for summer, young girls learned how to bake at the Sugar Drop baking camp.
Brooke O'Dell is the co-owner of the Brentwood Party and Bakery store, Sugar Drop. Although for most of the past 50 years it only offered party favors and baking equipment, O'Dell left her corporate job, to revamp the shop, adding a professional kitchen.
A self taught baker, it was her way of leaving her corporate job, and spending more time with her children.
Every summer, she offers a Baking Camp for students who want to know the finer points of baking. They create everything from French Butter Cookies, to Napoleons, because every day, there's an emphasis on the sweets from other countries.
The Sugar Drop also offers bachelorettes the opportunity to learn more about baking as well by offering parties similar to the popular Baking Camp.
