Police have been searching for two men in connection with the stabbing death of a 36-year-old Army veteran during a bar fight outside of Chattanooga.
News outlets reported Shawn Russell was stabbed during a brawl at a Hixson bar early Tuesday.
Chattanooga police Lieutenant Glenn Scruggs said authorities have identified two men who were involved in the stabbing, but he declined to release their names.
Scruggs said video surveillance showed Russell wielding a pool cue during the fight.
An Army spokeswoman said Russell served with the U.S. Army Reserve, the Army, and the Tennessee Army National Guard, last serving in 2008. He was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq for three months in 2003 and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and an Army Service Ribbon.
