Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested a Ripley man on a murder charge for a shooting in West Tennessee.

A release from TBI said 22-year-old Arric Lamont Ford was found fatally shot on Tuesday on a road next to a vehicle in Ripley.

Ford had been shot in the chest.

Investigators developed information that 27-year-old Jabarre Jarrett had been fighting with Ford that night, and later caught up with him at an intersection and allegedly shot him.

Jarrett was arrested on Friday and charged with first-degree murder, employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and felony possession of a firearm. TBI said in the release that bond had not yet been set. Jarrett was being held in the Lauderdale County Jail.
