VW Offers Virtual Look At Chattanooga Plant

Posted

Volkswagen has given a virtual look inside its Chattanooga assembly plant while physical tours have been halted amid vehicle development at the German automaker's lone U.S. factory.

The company used to offer up to three tours a day to show off Volkswagen's advanced manufacturing systems and its energy-efficient plant. But those tours were stopped as Volkswagen updated its midsized Passat sedan and began preparing to build a new SUV in Chattanooga.

Volkswagen on Tuesday posted photos from all around its Chattanooga plant on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, covering an entire 10-hour shift by production workers.

Volkswagen has reaffirmed its plans to build the new SUV at the plant despite the fallout from a diesel emissions cheating scandal that's expected to costs billions.
