A young boy in Dickson will never forget his birthday after strangers helped make it a bit more special.
Damian Crimmons celebrated turning 11 years old on Saturday with a Mario Kart-themed party.
However, when Damian tried to invite his classmates, no one RSVP'd. He switched schools earlier in the year which can be tricky for a child.
"Normally when I pass out invitation to school, people don't come," Damian told NewsChannel 5.
"I was really worried no one was going to show up," Stephanie Dodson, his mother, said.
So she turned to social media and left a post asking the community to help celebrate his birthday. To her surprise, people came knocking.
"A couple of families responded and a couple of people just wanted to stop by and drop off gifts for him," Dodson said.
Cyndia Clark does not know the family and brought her sons to join the party. She said it was the right thing to do.
"I have three boys I know what it's like to wonder if anyone will show up. You don't want your kids to be disappointed," Clark said.
The response from the community overwhelmed Dodson who tearfully told NewsChannel 5 that she thanked from the bottom of heart.
