NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A student at the Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville has been accused of breaking into the school and stealing thousands of dollars in equipment.
Thousands of dollars’ worth of cameras and other equipment was stolen from the school back in June.
Nearly two months later, officials with Metro police said Marquise Crudup was arrested Monday night in connection with the incident.
According to an affidavit, Crudup allegedly broke into a room with two other suspects. Their identities were unknown.
Crudup was allegedly seen in the room briefly before he placed a baseball hat over the camera lens to try to block it out. As he left, Crudup reportedly retrieved the hat, revealing that multiple cameras had been stolen.
Police said the suspect's backpack was believed to have contained nearly $6,000 of Cannon cameras and equipment.
Crudup has been charged with burglary and theft. His bond has been set at $35,000.
There was no word on his status with the school at this point.
