A La Vergne High School student was detained after school officials found the student with a gun on campus.
The school resource officer learned of the gun through a tip. The student in question was immediately searched and detained when the gun was found in his backpack.
Law enforcement was conducting a full investigation, but school officials told parents that all students were safe.
