Students at Marvin Wright Elementary School started the school year with a new new mascot - the rockets.
To celebrate the mascot change, teachers and students held a rocket launch Thursday.
The school used to be the Wranglers, but decided to change their name last year. They held a contest and the Rockets won.
A parent built a larger display rocket to donate it to the school.
