GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — Sumner County Mayor Anthony Holt extended the order requiring all residents to wear a face mask while in public.

The order took effect on July 7, and on July 13 Mayor Holt extended the order for the next seven days.

Holt said, although the order is being extended for seven days, the county intends to keep the order in place until 12:00 a.m. on August 3.

Mayor Holt is able to issue the order thanks to Governor Bill Lee's Executive order granting county mayors the authority to issue local requirements.
