NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennesseans will be able to take wine to the grocery store check-out beginning this Sunday.
This is the first weekend since a new state law took effect, allowing Sunday wine sales.
When the law was signed over the summer, liquor stores were given a head start and allowed to immediately open seven days a week. Now, retail food stores will be able to sell you wine on Sunday.
Tennessee first voted to allow grocery stores to sell wine back in 2016 after years of back and forth and under constant pressure from citizens and grocery store lobbyists.
