TBI is investigating after a man died while he was being chased by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened Friday afternoon while deputies were chasing a stolen vehicle driven by 30-year-old Alexander Webb.

Webb crashed the vehicle in a wooded area along Harrison Ferry Road in McMinnville and then took off on foot.

TBI says a deputy was able to chase down Webb and tried to take him into custody.

Webb reportedly would not comply with spoken commands and at some point during the confrontation became unresponsive.

Deputies attempted to revive Webb, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

TBI agents are gathering information and will submit what find to the district attorney general.

Per TBI policy, the agency does not identify the officers involved in these types of incidents and will instead refer questions of that nature to their department.
