LYNCHBURG, Tenn. (WTVF) — The driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead on Lynchburg Highway has been identified by police.
Zachary Collins, 25, us thought to have been driving vehicle westbound on the highway when he struck a pedestrian who was walking in the westbound lane. Collins then fled the scene.
The body of the victim, Elbrus Bokiev, was discovered on the side of the highway by police on January 29th.
It is unclear whether or not Collins was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
