A man has been on the run after robbing a Broadway gas station, and police confirmed some good Samaritans got involved, as well.
The robber threatened two gas station employees with a knife to get cigarettes before he was maced by citizens on his way out.
The crime happened at the APlus Official Pit Stop on Broadway late Thursday night.
Police said the male suspect walked in with a knife or a large box cutter and stole about $60 worth of Newport cigarettes before fleeing from the scene.
As he was walking out, authorities said he was tackled and maced by some customers.
The man was still able to get away. He ran to the next door parking lot where he had a driver and a getaway car waiting for him.
No injuries were reported. Authorities have continued to search for the suspect as the investigation remained ongoing.
