Suspect, Victim Injured In Robbery, Carjacking

Both a suspect and a victim were injured in a robbery and carjacking in Murfreesboro.

Reports stated the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday in multiple locations.

Authorities said two victims were going to a home on Cayuga Trail to meet with a female.

When they got there, the passenger in the vehicle went to the back door, but found no one was home.

That man returned to the truck they had arrived in and saw two suspects robbing the driver.

One suspect got into the vehicle and told the driver to pull away, while the second suspect got into he bed of the truck.

The passenger who watched this crime then followed on foot in an attempt to help his friend.

The truck had to stop for a vehicle backing out of a driveway, which was when the suspect in the cab of the truck got out and attacked and robbed the passenger who had been following on foot.

The suspect who had been in the bed of the truck was thrown from the moving vehicle at some point during the crime.

Officers said the victim who was attacked on the road was found on Mahogany Trail. The suspect who was thrown from the bed of the truck was found on Gold Valley Drive.

Both were taken to St. Thomas Rutherford for treatment of their injuries. The condition of each was unknown.

The female they had been going to meet, identified as 20-year-old Miranda Cohen, was taken into custody once it was realized she had a connection to one of the suspects. She was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.

Also arrested was 21-year-old Joniah Kano who was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, and two counts of theft under $1000.

Officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department confirmed the second suspect had not been caught and was being actively sought.
