WINCHESTER, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Winchester officer shot a suspect after the suspect took a stun gun from another officer and shot him with it Thursday.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating the incident. They say it happened around 10 p.m. at a business in the 800 block of South College Street, where officers were responding to a domestic violence call.
Officers were able to identify and detain that offender quickly. Afterwards, though, they saw a man - later identified as Kenneth Blair, 36 - rack a pistol while seated in a vehicle in the parking lot.
Blair drove off and struck another vehicle in the parking lot and a porch post at the business. Blair then ran away, and officers gave chase.
At one point, the officers got in a fight with Blair. During the fight, Blair managed to get one of the officers stun guns, which he used on an officer.
Another officer shot his gun at Blair, hitting him. Blair died from his injuries.
No officers were critically injured during the incident.
