Tennessee Department of Transportation crews began patching potholes on I-440 on Monday.
Lane closures are expected from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. over the next three weeks as crews patch up, mill, and clear the roadway to prepare for a massive reconstruction project this summer.
That summer project is estimated to take up to three years to complete.
It is funded from the IMPROVE Act passed last year, which raised the gas tax by six cents and diesel tax by ten cents over the next three years.
