NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Kindergarten teachers say a bad testing system is hurting them and Democratic lawmakers say there should be no negative impact from those scores.
Lawmakers said small issues like a typo could result in an automatic failing grade.
Teachers also had to record their students at the beginning and end of the year to show their progress.
Teachers say it may sound good, but it took a lot of teaching time, and hurt the students. They also reported spending hours outside of class putting together the portfolios.
