Tennessee State University homecoming began to wrap up as students and alumni cheered on their school at the pep rally and step show.
Teams from fraternities and sororities on campus performed their best step routines for the crowd. They were judged on their creativity and audience engagement.
First place winners took home a $1,000 prize. One visitor said seeing tonight's step show reminded him of why sometimes people choose to attend a historically black college.
"And to see you step - makes them want to join the organization makes you want to go to college which was probably one of the motivation for going to college the Greeks and step shows motivated me to want to go to college," said Demarcus Little.
Homecoming week will end Saturday with the football game at 6 p.m.
