Teen arrested after pursuit in Hendersonville

Hendersonville police arrested a teenage driver after a pursuit through the city Sunday night.

The Hendersonville Police Department said an officer tried to pull over the 17-year-old driver for a traffic violation near Anderson Lane and E. Main Street at about 6:00p.m. Sunday.

According to investigators, the teen initially stopped for the officer, but then drove off and crashed into two vehicles.

Officers said the teen had a gun on him when he got out of his vehicle and ran. 

The teen was captured after a foot pursuit. Investigators said he is from Hendersonville, but did not identify him by name.

The teen was charged through the Sumner County Juvenile Court with nine counts, including aggravated assault on an officer, unlawful possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
