A 16-year-old was charged for carrying a loaded gun onto a high school campus.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said another student told a school official about the gun at Overton High School Friday.
They found the .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol without incident in the student’s backpack.
He told police he had bought the gun, but didn’t give them any additional information.
The teen was booked at Juvenile Detention.
