CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A teen was sent to the hospital after she was hit by a vehicle while riding her scooter.
According to Clarksville Police officials, the 14-year-old girl was with two other teens crossing Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on Razor scooters.
They crossed the southbound lanes of the road and were crossing in between the two stopped northbound vehicle lanes when one of them entered into the path of an oncoming pickup.
A man in his 50s was driving the truck. He hit the rider when he was turning from Wilma Rudolph Blvd. onto Dunbar Cave Rd. The girl appeared in front of the pickup so quickly, there was insufficient time for the driver to avoid a collision with the scooter.
The girl was transported by an ambulance to a Nashville hospital with indetermined injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
