Tennessee Democratic Party chair won’t seek reelection

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini has announced she will not seek re-election.

The TNDP said in a statement on Saturday, that as a result, the election to name a new chair will be scheduled for January 2021. The exact date has yet to be determined.

“It has been an honor of a lifetime to work with Democrats across the state and serve the Tennessee Democratic Party as chair for the last six years,” Mancini said. “I am excited to see what’s next for the Party and I look forward to helping the new chair in whatever capacity is needed.”

In addition to the chair, three additional officer elections will be on the agenda in January: Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
