At least 4,000 mentors are needed in 84 counties for applicants of the Tennessee Promise program.
A volunteer mentor is assigned to each Tennessee Promise applicant.
“The heart of our program is mentorship, providing the student with someone from their community who serves as a resource and an encourager,” said Graham Thomas, Deputy Director of Engagement and Partnerships, tnAchieves.
Davidson County needs 207 more mentors to meet student demand. Other counties also need mentors, including:

- Marshall: 26
- Maury: 46
- Montgomery: 140
- Robertson: 61
- Rutherford: 292
- Sumner: 205
- Williamson: 151
- Wilson: 112
