Halloween is quickly approaching and apparently people in Tennessee have a sweet tooth for an unusual candy come trick-or-treat time each year.
According to a survey by The Candy Store, Tennesseans much prefer Tootsie Pops when Halloween rolls around. The blog claims nearly 61,000 pounds of Tootsie Pops are consumed each year in the Volunteer State. Coming in second place in our state was Skittles, followed by salt water taffy.
In Kentucky, Swedish Fish have come out as the top Halloween candy. The blog estimates 73,000 pounds of the candy are consumed each year. Tootsie Pops came in second place, followed by Reese's Cups.
The survey found that America's favorite candy is Skittles, followed by M&M's, Snickers, Reese's Cups and Starburst.
