NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The 11th annual Tennessee Beer and Wine Festival scheduled for this fall has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Event organizers said the decision was made because they are unable to hold the event with social distancing and while adhering to the CDC's safety guidelines.

"Our festival is attended by people who enjoy the camaraderie and engagement of the crowds, samplings of beer and wine and listening to lively bands and entertainment," said Bill Lafollette, chair of the festival's volunteer planning committee. "We're looking forward to coming back even stronger Saturday, October 16, 2021."

The event, which was planned for October 19, is attended every year by more than 2,500 people on the grounds of Two Rivers Mansion in Donelson.

Over the last ten years, it has raised $350,000 for nonprofit organizations in the Hermitage and Donelson communities.
