Three arrested in Nashville in drug investigation by multiple agencies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Three have been arrested following an investigation by multiple agencies into a drug transaction that was scheduled to happen Wednesday.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), agents learned of the scheduled drug transaction, which was supposed to take place in a parking lot in downtown Nashville.

TBI agents, with agents and detectives with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Metro Nashville Police Department Major Crime Task Force, conducted surveillance in the area.

Officers approached a vehicle with two people inside. They had about four kilograms of cocaine on them.

Three men were arrested and booked into the Davidson County jail.

The investigation also resulted in the seizure of the cocaine, some cash and a handgun.

Christopher Kenneth Funez, 18, of Antioch, was charged with possession and conspiracy to deliver over 300 grams of cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Francisco Castillo Rojas, 46, of Juarez, Mexico, was charged with possession and conspiracy to deliver over 300 grams of cocaine.

Marco Polo Sanchez, 26, of Murfreesboro, was charged with conspiracy to deliver over 300 grams of cocaine.
