Titans Promote National Wear Red Day

Posted

The Tennessee Titans hosted a news conference with the American Heart Association at Nissan Stadium to get the word out about National Wear Red Day.

February 5th was named National Wear Red Day to promote women's heart health and raise awareness against the number-one killer of women, heart disease.

The day is part of the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" movement. They say not enough women talk about heart health, and they want that to change.

“We need to make this a topic of conversation so we can prevent unnecessary death from cardiovascular illness in America in women,” said Dr. Melissa Walton-Shirley with St. Thomas Health.

At least 25 buildings in Middle Tennessee like the Adventure Science Center, the Parthenon, Tennessee State University and several more will be going red on Friday in support.
