Tennessee's new healthcare task force held its first meeting in an effort to improve Tenesseeans’ access to healthcare.
Despite critics, members of the task force said the meeting was productive.
"We weren't involved in the process the first time as far as hearing what is going on. I think we're here to come up with solutions. I think all the questions that were asked of TennCare were very appropriate to help us come up with solutions and ideas of what we think we want to move with forward,” said Rep. Cameron Sexton.
Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini called the task force a "sham."
In a release today, she said Harwell moved the meeting location last minute, and pointed out that no healthcare officials, Democrats, or Senators served on the force.
