Today marks two years since the Antioch church shooting

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tuesday marks two years since a gunman opened fire at an Antioch church, killing one woman and wounding others.

Emanuel Samson is now serving a life sentence, plus 291 years behind bars for the shooting at the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch on September 24, 2017.

Melanie Crow was shot and killed in the church parking lot. Several others were injured, including Minister Joey Spann and usher Robert Engle, who was able to subdue Samson until police arrived.

More than 40 witnesses testified during the trial. Jurors found him guilty on all 43 counts, including premeditated first-degree murder.
