Toddler Found Walking Alone On Madison Street

MADISON, Tenn. – Officials have been notified after a toddler was found walking alone down a Madison street.

Officials with Metro Police said the three-year-old child was seen walking alone Thursday morning near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Maple Street.

The child was apparently wearing only a diaper and a shirt. Police said he has a communication disability.

His mother reportedly did not know he was missing.

She was not cited in the incident, which was her first offense. Officials with the Department of Children's Services have been notified. 

The mother's identity was not immediately released.
