NASHVILLE, Tenn. - East Nashville has been taken over by tomato enthusiasts.

The annual Tomato Art Festival has been going on at the Five Points Area of 11th and Woodland Street.

The festival started in 2004 and kept growing each year. In 2014, 35,000 people turned up.

"You can make pasta sauce, you can eat them raw, you can make a tomato sandwich,” listed Lizzie Wright, of Sugar Camp Farm. “They are actually a fruit, although people think they are a vegetable. They are a fruit."

There's food, local crafts, and plenty of live music. The event was scheduled to last until 9 p.m. Saturday.
