Town Hall Meeting Planned On Opioid Addiction

Posted

It's a crisis across the nation that affects hundreds in Tennessee every day: opioid addiction.

A newly developed anti-drug coalition in Maury County has planned to host the first of several town hall meetings to address the epidemic and how it's affecting people in our area.

That meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the National Guard Armory in Columbia.

In March, three young men died within 24 hours in Maury County. Investigators are awaiting reports to find out whether the drugs the men overdosed on were mixed with the lethal opioid fentanyl.
