A truck crashed into the Metro Vehicle Inspection Center cutting the power to the building and forcing it to close.
It happened Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. at the center on Craighead Street in Nashville.
Employees said it was a frightening situation.
"I actually thought it was on the interstate; so when I looked outside and turned to the left it was like voila. All the power went down. The first lane and the third lane's shut off," said Parez Bailey.
The center was closed until power could be restored, and was expected to reopen Wednesday.
