MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A street in the Hickory Hills subdivision of Mt. Juliet has been closed after a dump truck tipped over, spilling its load.
The incident happened around 12:20 p.m. Friday on Brownstone Street.
According to Lt. Tyler Chandler with the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the truck was unloading dirt and rocks at a residential construction site. The ground began to shift underneath, causing the truck to lean and it's contents to move. The truck then rolled on its side.
A nearby home did not appear to be damaged.
The 55-year-old truck driver had minor injuries. He was being treated on the scene by emergency medical technicians from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.
Fuel was leaking from the truck.
Crews were working to finish unloading the truck’s contents and right the vehicle. The roadway was expected to reopen around 2:30 p.m.
